A/dvance for Electrophysiology

The program is in use in several laboratories, but I (RMD) do not recommend any new users start with it. There has only been a minor bug fixes for the last several years and currently I do not have any plans to port it to MacOS X. The current generation of macintoch G5's will not boot OS 9.x, and advance will not run in classic mode. Unfortunately a proper port would require a huge investment of time. Apple was warning of potential problems many years before it actually happened, but in retrospect I guess I could have continued adding features for a bit longer. At any rate I am getting rusty. I haven't done any hands-on electrophysiology myself since 1994, and my colleagues, their pdfs and students have been suckered into molecular biology.

Go to the a/dvance pages anyway.

Expression Evaluator

This package is a port of C routines posted several years ago to a DOS archive by Mark Morley. The Equation Evaluator takes an equation in the form of a text string and returns a value. Having tried a couple of small C interpreters it was a relief to find something I could understand and which handled floating point numbers. There are two folders. The EE folder contains the port and the original documentation. My contribution is minimal and I hope I've changed little of any consequence in either the source code or documentation. In the CEquation folder I've reorganized the code as a C++ class. You will need CodeWarrior as I've used the exception macros provided by Power Plant.
